드디어 우리 학생들이 기다리고 기다리던 영어 캠프가 시작되었습니다!!!

All the students arrived at school with faces full of excitement.

설렘 가득한 얼굴로 등교하는 우리 친구들!!!

After receiving their name tags and camp bags,

they followed their teachers to the classrooms.

이름표와 캠프 가방을 받고

선생님을 따라서 교실로 이동해 볼까요?

Today in English class, the students studied works about their communties.

오늘은 English Class에서는

"Community Workers"

"Community Helpers"

"Community Government"

작품들을 공부해 봤습니다.

Before diving into the lesson,

the students went over some simple class rules.

본격적으로 수업에 들어가기 전

간단한 수업 규칙들을 알아봤습니다!

They also learned how to use the vocabulary notebook.

오늘 수업과 관련된 새로운 영어 어휘를 학습하기 전

단어장을 적는 방법에 대해 설명을 들었습니다.

Now, let's fill out our vocabulary notebooks!

They listened carefully to the teacher's explanation

and jotted down the words they had learned.

A special activity was waiting in Joy Class

— designing our own houses!

Joy Class에서는 특별한 활동이 기다리고 있었는데요~

각자의 나만의 집을 만들어서

우리의 Joy Class 동네를 만들어볼까요?

Students thought carefully about what kind of house to build

with the materials the teacher gave them.

선생님께서 주신 만들기 재료를 가지고

어떤 집을 만들면 좋을까 고민하는 우리 친구들!

Then they started building the houses they envisioned in their heads.

They carefully cut and pasted the materials to create their own wonderful houses.

각자 머릿속에 구상한 집을 이제 직접 만들어 볼까요?

자신만의 멋진 집을 만들기 위해 고사리 같은 손으로

꼼꼼하게 재료를 오리고 붙였습니다.

With the teacher's help, they were able to work on their project.

The topic of today's English Science Class was "What Makes Weather?"

오늘 English Science Class의 주제는

"What makes Weather?"

First, the students had an orientation

about the upcoming science activities and class rules.

먼저 오리엔테이션 시간!

앞으로 진행될 과학 활동들과 수업 규칙에 대한 설명을 들었습니다.

Before moving into the textbook, the students played an ice-breaking game by guessing the English words related to the weather.

And the winner is...

본격적인 수업에 앞서,

날씨와 관련된 영어 단어를 맞히는 웜업 게임을 진행해 봤습니다.

누가 더 많은 날씨를 맞췄을까요?

Atmospheric pressure is such a difficult word for young children

but very important when learning about the weather.

What would be a better way to learn than an experiment!

날씨에 대해서 배울 때 꼭 알아야 하는 기압!

어린 친구들에게는 조금 어려운 단어이죠?

좀 더 쉽게 이해하기 위해 실험을 통해 알아봤습니다.

Through this expermient, students learned that paper doesn't fall

because of the atmospheric pressure.

기압 때문에 떨어지지 않는 종이!

모르는 내용을 눈으로 확인하면서 배우니 이해가 쏙쏙!!!

Finally, the students put on lab coats and safety goggles

to get ready for the experiment.

드디어 기다리고 기다리던 과학 실험 시간~!

안전을 위해 실험복과 보호경을 착용하고 실험 준비를 하는 친구들!!!

Today's experiment was to find out

which heats up faster and which cools down faster:

water or sand.

오늘의 실험은

"물과 모래 중 어느 것이 열을 더 잘 받을까? 어느 것이 더 빨리 식을까?"

알아보는 실험을 하였습니다.

Using thermometers, they observed and measured the temperatures of the water and sand.

직접 온도계를 이용해 물과 모래의 온도를 측정하며 관찰해 봤는데요?

As they watched the temperature change with their own eyes,

their eyes were filled with curiosity.

두 눈으로 온도 변화를 확인하니

아이들의 눈이 호기심으로 가득했습니다

Lastly, they wrapped up the class by going over the next day's homework.

Can't wait for the next experiment.

마지막으로 다음날 숙제를 함께 확인하며 수업을 마무리하였습니다.

내일은 어떤 실험이 기다리고 있을지 기대가 됩니다.

The topic for social studies today is New Year's Day and Valentine's.

오늘 Social Studies Class의 주제는

"Valentine's All Around"

"Happy New Year Around the World"

"New Year Celebration"

입니다.

They were also briefed on the content they'll be covering for the next two weeks,

as well as homework, textbooks, vocabulary tests,

and the rules they need to follow in the classroom.

먼저 앞으로 2주 동안 배울 내용, 숙제, 교재, 단어 시험,

그리고 교실에서 지켜야 할 규칙에 대한 설명을 들었습니다.

Now, shall we get to the main part of the lesson?

The students learned about national holidays around the world.

As they read the text, they learned about unique holidays and cultures of each country.

이제 본격적으로 수업에 들어가 볼까요?

세계 여러 나라의 공휴일에 대해 알아봤는데요~

본문을 읽으며 각 나라 독특한 공휴일을 접하고 문화를 알아보는 시간을 가졌습니다.

Today, students learned about New Year's cultures in various countries.

They also learned that many countries have a custom of lighting candles on New Year's Day,

so they got to make a "Jesus-shaped candle".

특히 각 나라의 새해 문화에 대해 좀 더 배워봤는데요~

많은 나라에서 새해에 초를 켜는 풍습이 있다는 것을 배우고

"예수님 모양의 초"를 만들어보는 활동을 했습니다.

They carefully crafted the candle of Jesus!

꼬물꼬물~

작은 손으로 예수님을 완성해가는 친구들!

​

They molded detailed parts of the face, clothes, arms, and legs

to complete the figure of Jesus.

예수님의 얼굴, 옷, 팔, 다리 등 클레이로 섬세하게 만들어

자신만의 작품을 완성해나갔습니다.

For the more difficult parts, they got help from their teacher and intern.

조금 어려운 부분은 선생님과 인턴 선생님의 도움을 받아

완성해 봤는데요~

And voilà!

The carefully crafted Jesus-shaped candles were placed in beautifully decorated boxes.

짜잔!!!!!

정성껏 만든 예수님 모양의 초를 예쁘게 포장한 상자에 담아 완성!!!

이번 캠프에서는 어떤 메뉴들이 우리를 기다리고 있을까요?

Our parents also came in to help prepare

delicious and nutritious meals for the children.

이번 캠프 기간도 특별히 학부모님께서 직접 오셔서

아이들의 식사 준비를 도와주셨는데요~

Thanks to their precious service, we were able to enjoy a satisfying and happy lunch.

이른 아침부터 오셔서 아이들이 맛있게 먹을 수 있는 영양 가득한 식사를 준비해 주신 우리 어머님들!!!

학부모님들의 귀한 봉사 덕분에 더욱 든든하고 행복하게 점심을 먹을 수 있었습니다!

The children's faces were full of smiles as they sat together, talking and eating.

친구들과 함께 둘러앉아 즐겁게 이야기를 나누며 밥을 먹는 친구들의 얼굴에는 웃음꽃이 가득합니다.
